Cassie’s Portfolio Photo Shoot in Crystal Lake, IL
I had a chance to catch up with Cassie recently and asked her a few questions about her session. Here’s what she had to say:
nFocus: How would you describe your session?
Cassie: My session was very laid-back and fun! There was no pressure and it was amazing getting to work with a professional like Nick. He did everything possible to make our session the best it could be; he even asked me what my favorite type of music was and played it over the speakers!
n: What if anything would you do differently?
c: If I could do my session over, I would’ve brought a larger variety of outfits.
n: How did your session make you feel?
c: My session made me feel comfortable and confident in myself!
n: What was your favorite part?
c: My favorite part was when I got to use the couch as a prop. It was really fun and I got to let my inner child show!
n: What did you like the best about your photos?
c: I really liked how the photos showed my personality!!

Senior Essentials with Alexis in Crystal Lake, IL
Alexis was in the studio earlier this month for one of our brand new SeniorEssentials sessions. Her makeup was amazing (she did it herself) and she brought the perfect two outfits! All of that combined for a fantastic session with tons of great images.
SeniorEssentials Sessions are something new we’re trying this winter. Perfect for the senior who just needs a few images. SeniorEssentials includes a two outfit photo session in the studio and five retouched digital images and are only available December thru February.
Senior Pictures with Faelan in Crystal Lake, IL
Faelan was in our Crystal Lake studio to take senior pictures last month and boy, what a session it was!!
Usually around November 1st the leaves are gone, the grass starts to get brown and it’s just too cold for an outdoor session! But that doesn’t mean we can’t get great senior photos! The studio actually offers a lot of advantages over photographing outside – think 90 degrees and mosquitoes!!
Faelan chose our four outfit studio session which let her incorporate dance and tennis with a couple more outfits as well.
The tennis photos were a total blast and at one point we had her entire family tossing tennis balls at her. Her little brother enjoyed that maybe a little too much!
Faelan also brought her dog Sarge and took some pictures with her little bro’. She told me after her session that she really enjoyed being able to take photos in different outfits and felt a little bit like a model!
Overall the session was a huge success and we got tons of great photos!

Emma’s senior photos in Crystal Lake, Illinois
Our last outdoor session of the year was with Emma who’s a senior at Prairie Ridge in Crystal Lake. Normally the weather in late October can be a little iffy, but we had a beautiful fall day and even finished up in the lake! Yes!!! Late October in the lake!
We asked Emma to tell us a little bit about her nFocus senior photo experience and here’s what she had to say…
“Having senior photos taken is so important! It’s crucial to have genuine photos you can look back on as you reminisce on your senior year.
My session was a lot of fun! I felt very comfortable. Nick has the ability to make anyone feel truly confident and beautiful during their session!
I loved being taken to parts of town I didn’t even know existed! I loved seeing what type of background would be behind me during my outdoor session, whether it was a brick wall or a beautiful area in the forest.
I love how professional the photos look and how relaxed and authentic I look. Nick does a great job coming up with candid poses for each individual so they don’t look staged or awkward!
Nick is truly one of a kind – you can’t find his unique style of photography anywhere else! You won’t be disappointed after seeing the stunning photos he has taken!!”

Class of 2018 – nFocus is looking for Model Reps!!
Class of 2018! nFocus is looking for Juniors to represent their class as nFocus Model Reps! We are looking for energetic fans of our work who want to have us take their senior photos and who are willing to help promote our studio.

Here’s how the program works:
First, nfocus Model Reps will get a free outdoor senior photo session next summer and an optional free session in the studio this spring. During these sessions we’ll be trying out new ideas and backgrounds as well as creating photos for our advertising and other promotional materials for the Class of 2017. You’re going to be the first ones from your senior class getting photographed and your photos will be all over Facebook, Instagram and the nFocus website!
In addition to the free photo sessions, every time you refer a friend to have their senior photos taken by nFocus you’ll earn discounts on your senior photo order and receive an entry in our year end drawing for some great prizes!!
To qualify:
1. You must currently be a high school Junior who wants to have your Senior Photos taken by nFocus Photos.
2. You must be able to attend a consultation meeting with one of your parents at our studio in Crystal Lake some time in January or February.
3. Most importantly, you must be excited to promote nFocus to your friends and encourage them to have their senior photos taken with us!
Make sure your parents know you’re applying because once I get your application I’ll be back in touch with you and your parents to set up the consultation meeting.
