Meet, Amber! She’s going to be a senior at Hampshire High School this fall and is one of our nFocus Model Reps for the Class of 2018.

Amber’s a catcher for the Fox Valley Renegades softball team. I loved getting the chance to capture both the competitive and softer sides of Amber’s personality. She’s also a fan of roses as she explains in our interview below, so we made sure to capture some images with the flowers as well!

We had a chance to ask Amber a few questions about life and her experience at nFocus…

nFocus: How would you describe your photo shoot?

Amber: My shoot was very enjoyable! I had a lot of fun bringing different outfits to capture the different sides of my personality. Nick is an amazing photographer and his assistant was great at making sure all the little things like my hair looked right. I’m glad my friend recommended nFocus to me and my mom!!

n: Were you nervous about being photographed?

A: Yes, I was nervous at first, but as the session went on I grew more comfortable. I’m not the type of person who likes to be the center of attention, but the studio atmosphere made me feel more comfortable.

n: What was your favorite part of the photo shoot?

A: My favorite part of the shoot was getting to take photographs in my softball uniform. Softball is one of my biggest passions and I’m glad Nick could capture that during my session!

n: Some of your friends may not want to have senior photos taken, or have a friend take them, what would you say to them about the experience?

A: I would tell my friends that this is an opportunity you DO NOT WANT TO MISS! Senior year is a milestone in your life. I think it is important to capture this time in your life because this is when you start to make your own decisions and figure out your own style.

n: Did you feel like the shoot was a good bonding experience for you and your Mom?

A: My mom and I are already very close to begin with and I’m so appreciative of her support and everything she does for me. Having her there was one of the factors that made me feel more comfortable and having her there to help me with my outfits definitely helped us bond during the session!

n: You’re officially a senior! What are you most looking forward to this year?

A: I look forward to spending one more year with all my friends! I also look forward to looking at colleges and making the decision on where I will be attending school.

n: What are your hobbies and interests?

A: My biggest hobby right now is softball, I hope to continue playing at the college level!!

n: What’s your favorite spot on the planet?

A: My favorite spot on the planet would be Hawaii!!! I love snorkeling and going to the beach!

n: Pick your favorite three songs on your phone?

A: My go to songs would be Renegades by X Ambassadors, Hurricane by Luke Combs, and Black by Dierks Bentley.

n: Tell us something most people don’t know about you?

A: A lot of people don’t know how sensitive I am. I take everything to heart and I am very sentimental. Some of my favorite pictures taken by Nick are the ones with the roses because they represent my grandparents, ‘rose’ was in both their names and I was named after both of them as well. They were a very big part of my life and I’m glad I got to make them part of my session!

Watch for more from Amber this summer!
